On November 23, 2023, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) issued Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 6, s. 2023, titled 'Guidelines on the Grant of the Loyalty Award.' This circular updates and consolidates existing policies regarding the recognition of government employees for their continuous and satisfactory service. The Loyalty Award is granted to officials and employees who have rendered ten (10) years of continuous and satisfactory service in the government. Subsequent awards are given every five (5) years thereafter.

The guidelines specify that the award consists of a cash gift and a loyalty medallion or plaque. For the initial 10 years, an employee receives a cash award of not less than PHP 10,000, and for every five years thereafter, an amount not less than PHP 5,000. The circular also clarifies the computation of service years, including periods of authorized leaves without pay, and outlines the responsibilities of agencies in implementing the award. This initiative by the CSC aims to boost morale and acknowledge the invaluable contributions of dedicated public servants across various government agencies in the Philippines.
